The organic home gardening approach that I have been previously using lately has been wonderful. In fact, our garden can grow natural vegetables more proficiently than ever before.

You realize, I can settle-back and loosen up for months or a few months and my personal garden nevertheless produces meals in a much respected way.

Just how is this achievable?

Okay, this really is made possible over the use an environmentally friendly micro-eco system growing plants technique identified simply because ecological garden.

I totally enjoy this type of organic home gardening because it’s practically hands-free in terms of treatment and routine maintenance.

Simply put, should you adopt the actual ecological horticulture technique, it is possible to just settle back, relax along with your organic backyard will still be in a position to yield a great deal of fresh, healthful, tasty along with juicy natural and organic vegetables which includes pumpkins, tomatoes, celery, lettuce and more.

Providing you apply the particular ecological growing plants principles inside correct style, your garden continues to produce large quantities of organic and natural foods together with very little disturbance on your part.

So what exactly is ecological garden?

Well, it can be basically a method that enables your current vegetable back garden to act exactly the same way being a natural an environment.

So why do we’d like our natural and organic home yard to mimic normal habitat?

Fine, I want you to visualize a large jungle tree dropping to the ground after many years of standing up tall. Imagine the bare niche room left with the tree.

It’s actually a very large market space. Same goes with weeds planting season out of this bare niche area? The answer is simply no. Instead 100s, perhaps 1000s of inactive seed products that were lying in the dirt will early spring to life.

They will fill the particular niche place that was earlier occupied from the fallen jungle tree. A harmonious relationship is reestablished after the niche place is crammed.

Now the identical effect can be accomplished for organic home gardening. Consequently you can have a plant garden it doesn’t require weeding, absolutely no pesticides request, no searching, no sleeping beds, simply no crop turn etc.

Just how do we build a vegetable garden in which follows the actual ecological growing plants rules?

You could start by using a grape planting system which mimics an organic ecosystem. Fundamentally, you place a variety of passable plants in an exceedingly compact method – keep no unfilled niche room!

This kind of grape planting system additionally produces a range of highly guarded micro-climates. So your crops will last considerably longer because of this.

Occur hot mean, your natural won’t just bolt in order to seed whilst those cool sensitive plant life get far more protection.

Not only this…

This sowing system furthermore makes for a great and all-natural form of bug control therefore the usage of pesticides is entirely unnecessary.

Much contrary to the traditional outdoor gardeners who usually require a store full of gardening tools, the container gardeners find it much easy with only a handful of gardening supplies required for them to indulge in their favorite hobby. As more and more baby boomers are retiring and giving up their single residence homes for apartments, condos or town homes, the hobby of container gardening is gaining quick popularity. After all, why should one have to give up ones favorite pastime just because one doesn’t have a backyard anymore?! Container gardening is the way to go! With few good supplies you can enjoy the beautiful blossoms right in the comfort of your home.
Pots and Planters
A great benefit of container gardening is that you can customize the looks of your interiors as you desire. So if you need an oriental look, you can opt for the special feng shui’d containers available in the market. There are many more thematic containers that can be considered as well. Another useful tip to help you constantly change the look of your interiors is to avoid planting directly into the containers. Before planting, you should put a layer of plastic sheet or a hidden clay pot in the container. The plants should them be put in containers with these layers in between. This will help you swapping the plants in different containers to modify the look of your home. You must also ensure that enough drainage holes are poked below the container for excess water to seep out. In order to prevent soil also from seeping out along with water, you can make use of gardening supplies like coffee filters, convex pottery shards or pebbles.
Potting Soil
It may seem odd to buy dirt when you can find it everywhere around for free. However, please note that the common dirt may be heavily infected with pests, bacteria and fungi that can be disastrous for the plants.
It is because of this reason that many companies make available specially treated soil that is sold with other gardening supplies. Such soil is enhanced with pesticides, water absorption materials and fertilizers. Potting soil is even baked by a few companies to help get rid of diseases and pests. It is usually very cheap and can work wonders for your garden.
Plants
Your purchase of the plants along with the gardening supplies will be dependent on what type of gardening zone is your container garden located in. You need to give good thought to various facts like the weather conditions, placement (whether outside or indoors) etc. while making purchases for the plants. To get the best look, you must get creative. Different plants can be put in the same container or different plants from different containers can be bunched up together in a large planter box. You can even try mixing a few perennials with annuals that will add a splashing colorful look for a part of the year.
A few essential gardening supplies: Elbow grease, gloves and Spade
There are two different approaches that are adopted while planting flowers in the containers. First approach says that you put a little dirt at the bottom of an empty container with the help of a spade or trowel (as it is popularly known), follow it up by balancing the plant in the hole at the center of the container. After this, fill up all of the surrounding empty space with dirt using the trowel. Second approach is quite simple. You fill up the complete container with dirt and then dig up a hole to put the plant into it.
No matter what method you adopt, plants will grow well in both the cases. However, the importance of a spade (trowel) in both the procedures cannot be neglected.
It is observed that if the bottom edge of a root is cut before planting a plant into the container, it catalyzes the growth of the plant. Also, you must take care that most plants prefer to grow in the same soil that they were bought in. So, while planting them you must ensure that they are introduced into as compatible environment as possible. There are so many customized gardening supplies available for container gardening in the market that it becomes imperative for the gardening enthusiasts to continue their hobby even after moving out of a single residence home.

World Lawn & Garden Consumables to 2014

Global demand to reach billion by 2014
Global demand for lawn and garden consumables is forecast to reach billion in 2014. Gains will benefit from the rising incomes and the emergence of a middle class in developing nations, which will create demand for lawn and garden products, including consumables which were previously considered luxury items. In addition, the fascination in the large US market with obtaining a lush, green lawn will continue to provide opportunities. Further promoting growth is a burgeoning aging population that will be reaching their peak gardening years. Increased interest in home gardening in developed areas of the world will boost demand for various consumables, such as flower and vegetable seeds, mulch, growing media, as well as various fertilizers. Limiting further growth are environmental concerns and money saving efforts among various end users, who will try to reduce the use of pesticides, fertilizers and other chemical treatments on lawns and gardens. ( http://www.bharatbook.com/detail.asp?id=156976&rt=World-Lawn-Garden-Consumables-to-2014.html )

Western regions to remain dominant markets
The bedrock US market, which accounted for roughly 45 percent of the global total, will continue to influence growth trends in the aggregate. Growth in US demand will reflect a turnaround in the housing crisis, as well as consumers’ continued enthusiasm for lawn care and a renewed interest in food gardening. The US (combined with other North American countries) and Western Europe will continue to be the dominant regional markets, with these two regions comprising over 80 percent of demand in 2014. These developed nations generally have a high percentage of households with yards, as well as high per capita income levels that allow for discretionary purchases such as consumables used to improve the aesthetics of a homeowner’s surroundings. These regions also support the vast majority of the world’s golf courses and other recreational fields, which are major consumers of lawn and garden consumables.

Developing regions to grow fastest from small base
The most rapid growth in lawn and garden consumables demand is forecast for the developing nations of Asia, Central and South America, Eastern Europe and Africa/Mideast. Despite a large population and above-average per annum growth, these markets will remain relatively small. Demand throughout much of these areas is limited by low income levels, with most consumers unable to afford lawn and garden consumables for home use. However, demand for consumables will benefit as income levels rise, and a greater emphasis is placed on beautifying homes, by establishing and maintaining lawns and gardens.

Growing media, seeds, mulch among best prospects
Growing media and other products, such as seeds and mulch, will provide the best opportunities through 2014. Growing media are benefiting from the expanding consumer trend favoring value-added products such as premium soils. Seed demand will benefit from accelerated use of grass seed as new home construction rebounds in the large US market. Mulch is gaining use as an aid in environmental efforts such as water conservation.

Effortless Hydroponics Gardening! When I first heard about it, could not believe or accept this. How can the plants survive without the Soil or water or sunlight? Is there any magic formula? If that could be possible then every one grows their favorite fruit or flower tree in their house interiors. But, then Hydroponics gardening has proved us that it can be done.

What is meant by Hydroponics? Well! Hydroponics simply says that the plants can be grown without the necessity of soil. The Plants will be grown with nutrients. Plants need nutrients for its survival & growth not soil. These hydroponics nutrients are nothing but small quantities of magnesium, potassium, calcium, sulfur, iron; copper & zinc which are tonic to the plants & no requirement of soil. The roots of the plants are dipped in nutrient solution rich in minerals or having a mixture of mineral wool, gravel or perlite. One will be truly amazed after seeing this process & will be keen to try the same in their homes.

Then we may ask ourselves this question, is the soil having no purpose in the hydroponics gardening? Of course it has. The Soil is used to provide strength to the roots as the plants grows. In fact, in natural gardening also the plants use the soil to strengthen their roots & search for nutrients & water. A considerable amount time goes there in the search for those nutrients. This search is not there in hydroponics gardening since the nutrients are first fed to the plants & this makes the growing fasted then the normal gardening process. The roots in hydroponics plants also grow faster as they get ample supply of oxygen unlike in the normal horticulture process where the roots get lesser supply since they remain in soil.

Do we require Hydroponics gardening? So, the question comes do we require Hydroponics gardening? Well, then I would say Yes. * Today, most of the countries or in far off places there is huge water scarcity or lesser water, in such places the hydroponics gardening is a boon to those people for growing fruits or vegetables. * They only need to provide the plants with the required nutrients & nothing else. So, no more cultivation or those long labor hours spent in those dry farm lands. * Also it’s a benefit for those people living in rocky or dessert lands where this is very economic way to get the produce.

The above reason has hold good that hydroponics gardening is benefit in water scarcity areas.

The next advantage is for all those garden lovers who would love have their favorite rose plant or a small vegetable garden of their but are not able to have it due to lack of space etc.Today, cities are more crowded & lack space. The people leaving in houses mostly lack garden space. Well, with Hydroponics Gardening they need not worry. * One can place their desired plants in few pots that are stuffed with the nutrients & can place or hang them in their house interiors. * If one may have the doubt that Plants require sunlight & how can these plants grow in the interiors where sunlight is not reached. Well! No problem, the light emitted from those tube lights is enough for these plants.

So, go ahead & grow your favorite vegetable or fruit in the house tops or the window boxes of your houses.

The practice of hydroponics gardening Today, the practice of hydroponics gardening has been rapid with positive results obtained in several global countries & experts have also mentioned that is has several advantages over the conventional method of gardening.

* Another advantage of the hydroponics gardening is the crops or plants being freed from diseases. Soil is the gateway to allow many diseases or insects damaging the plants. In the normal horticulture process, the farmers have to spray or mix pesticides to kill the diseases. * This process is not only costly but also kills the natural taste of the fruits or vegetables. Imagine having the feeling & taste of chlorine or magnesium in your mouth when you have a bite of the fruits grown here. * As soil is not required in hydroponics gardening, the plants are free from getting attacked with such diseases. * The other advantage is no water logging in case of this. Water logging leads to rotting to plants & this is mostly found in the agricultural lands when there is excess of rain or water flow.

So, vegetables or fruits grown by the process of hydroponics gardening are fresh, reliable & healthy. The gardening process is very simple, easy & clean. One need not take a larger space & is also requires minimum care & effort.

Home gardening clubs are quite famous all over America and Europe. People who are members of the club share their knowledge on gardening. Home gardening clubs share ideas and information with gardeners in a particular area. The Home gardening club of America lists the names of other clubs and organizations. It gives details on gardening competitions in around the country. They also give information on trees and plants. It is a great place to network and pick up some fast tips on gardening from people of expertise who have been in this line for years. Now days many organizations are joining in this race and several clubs both regionally accredited and unaccredited ones have sprung up almost everywhere.

It enables people who are interested in home gardening to exchange their ideas and thought’s on home gardening. They speak about their favourite plants and the best way to take over garden pests and insects. They help us to take care of gardens and have the best lawn in the city. Others are more into growing tropical plants and plants which are difficult to grow. Many Home gardening clubs operate their own website. It allows communication between members by having chat rooms. It’s very helpful for the people who live faraway and where gardening is not so popular. With the advent of the internet information has become almost in the tips of our fingers. Within minutes we are able to find suitable plants, dealers, medicines all in the comfort of our house. These forums also serve as a platform for discussion and exchange of ideas.

These clubs are great for old aged people who stay alone and love gardening. If members have problems with garden insects and in blighting their roses they can get advice from other people who are dealing with the same things. Some clubs help in gardening as well as making new friends and enjoying. Gardening has become almost as fun as going to clubs. It is a place to meet new people sharing a common interest.
Raised beds have many advantages for your home gardening activities: You can edit your back, the vegetables grow best thanks to many additional nutrients and soil heat and is easy to protect against worms ate.

The high yield is mainly due to the lower soil layers, which consist of garden waste such as branches and leaves. The decomposition processes in the freshly filled raised bed to generate heat and an increase the soil temperature by up to 5-8 ° Celsius. The plants grow faster and the growing season lasts longer. Secondly, when the pack many nutrients free of additional fertilizer can be abolished as a rule. An extra boost of nutrients in the pack brings the emitted carbon dioxide gas, which rises slowly through the loose earth and like the other nutrients for plant growth is important.

The best time to create a raised bed, is the fall or early spring. First create the base set. This allows you to easily gardening, should the bed 80 to 120 cm high and no wider than 130 cm. The length depends on your personal preference, but also on the stability of the building materials used. A minimum length of 200-250 centimeters is recommended so that you get inside the earth from exchange and scoop out the compost from the comfort of the inside. Note, however, that longer side walls bend more easily and may need to be reinforced with piles. Enter the floor on the entire cultivation areas about 25 cm deep, or tee off and then dig four wooden posts at the corners.

BUILDING MATERIAL: FREE SELECTION

Most people use strong wooden planks that are fastened with wood screws on the outside of the corner posts. Suitable are oak and black locust, and various tropical woods, but that should come in any case of certified forestry. Cheap pine or fir wood is suitable only if it is impregnated. Stein is also an excellent building material for raised beds. It is completely weather resistant, rot and is relatively good, temperature insulating properties. Also metal comes as a building material for raised beds is possible. Suitable are, for example, galvanized corrugated steel panels that are screwed to four corner posts made of wood. The wave profile provides a good reinforcement, so the plates bend not even in high earth pressure. Small drawback: The metal conducts heat and cold very well, therefore, may be delayed in colder months, the rotting process.

PLANT CARE IN Raised Bed
If the plant remains in the raised bed to rot slowly sinks off the ground. Therefore, we must before each new planting with compost refill. Its need five to six years should be replaced beet filling complete. The existing organic material has decomposed completely by that time and made almost all the nutrients to the crops. The old world is good humus and can be used for soil improvement in the vegetable garden or perennial border can be used.

Pour the bed in the summer of plenty and regularly. Due to the loose structure, the earth dries faster than the normal vegetable patch. Tip: The bed should be located within reach of the garden hose. Then the water is easy and you do not have to carry watering cans.

Against the snails are raised beds have proven plague. You can just click on the top or halfway up a peripheral, edge mount a downward angle in steel, then your baby vegetables in front of the ravenous reptiles safe.

Have a great and fun home gardening.

Garden design defined- Many people wonder what garden design exactly entails. Well, its actually a very straight forward concept consisting out of an artful process which in turn comprises of design, creation and planning precise layout of not only garden plants but also as the landscape areas self. The owner of the garden or a professional such as a landscaper can undertake a garden design project, depending on the expertise required. Even if you decide on a professional, it’s important to remember that his or her level of experience and expertise will vary from individual to individual.

Education- Most garden designers have been trained in both design and horticulture, with advanced know-how and experience on plants and their use. A Landscape Architect can also be considered part of a professional garden designer team, with formal training in the form of a degree, which includes state licensing.

Will only a pro succeed? -Its not only pro’s that succeed in garden design. Amateur gardeners also have the to potential to gain immense levels of experience, expertise and know-how from working in their own gardens. Wanna-be designers can also get necessary knowledge from either part-time or full-time study in the form of a University or College Degree in Gardening. Gardening or garden design organisations or clubs are also a very popular choice for individuals who want to learn more about gardening. These clubs include The Gardeners of America, National Garden Club or American Horticultural Society.

Increased interest in garden design- The popularity of garden design has boomed substantially in resent years specifically during the last century, not only as a mere hobby for gardening fanatics, but also as an addition to professional garden designers’ portfolio’s.

Basic principles of design- It doesn’t matter whether you are a garden designer by profession or an amateur trying your hand at something new, the basic principles of design will always remain the same if you want to ensure design effectiveness, resulting in a garden meeting the needs, goals and desires of the owner or user of the garden.

Elements of design- Essential garden design elements include, solid landscape layout such as paths, walls, water features, seating and decking; plant layout, with proper consideration to every plants individual requirements, the season, lifespan, habit in terms of growth including size and speed and lastly the combi of other plants and landscape characteristics.

Regular maintenance considerations- Regular maintenance considerations are also very important, this includes the time and costs spent to ensure the garden is properly maintained. This will have a direct impact on your plant choices, as special consideration needs to be taking in terms of plant growth speed, seeding, whether plants are annual, bi-annual or perennial, bloom-time and actual bloom duration, and numerous other factors.

Other considerations of importance- Of all the design considerations garden use is definitely regarded as the most important, desired style follows very close behind, and lastly the way the garden is intended to blend with your home or surrounding areas. Unfortunately, mentioned considerations are subject to two problems, namely budget and time limitations. Budget limitations are beaten chop-chop by a simple, basic garden design style with few and quick growing plants, inexpensive materials for landscaping and seeding instead sodding. Apart from this, garden owners can decide to design their gardens’ over an extended period, in sections, with primary focus on each individual section instead of manage all at once.

Have you ever thought about gardening organically at home, but weren’t sure where to start?

Many gardeners would love to garden without all the chemicals and sprays, but worry that organic home gardening is difficult and time consuming. Not so! It can be a straightforward and easy way to garden. And it’s also cheaper as you no longer have all those chemicals and sprays to buy.

In this article we’ll look at the basics of organic gardening – they keys to getting a good foundation so your plants have the best possible chance of success. We’ll look at how to prepare your soil, and see how easy it actually is to understand and improve your soil from the outset. We’ll also have a quick look at the bugs in your garden, and how you can protect your plants from the bad ones, and encourage the good ones.

Organic gardening may require a little more time and understanding from you as a gardener, however the rewards and satisfaction are huge. Read on to find out the basics you need to know.

The main things to know about organic gardening:

Soil:
Your soil is the lifeblood of your plants, and time spent now (boring as it is!) will really help you later. Firstly, you need to understand what type of soil you have. Most soils fall along a continuum from sandy to clay, and all can be improved by digging in rich organic matter. It also helps to know the acidity of your soil and the easiest way to find out is using a pH testing kit from your local garden center. These are very simply to use and will let you know if your soil is acid, alkaline, or just right. Ideally you want your soil to be just slightly acid – between 6.0 and 7.0 pH is ideal – and there are a number of organic ways we can achieve this. If you need to improve the pH of your soil then your garden center is your best place to start, as they will understand the soil types in your region.

Once you start gardening then feeding your soil twice a year with organic fertilizers and compost will help keep your soil in great condition.

Plants:
If growing from seed then you can find a huge range of organic seeds available these days. It’s also best to try to find plants that are naturally disease resistant – they will often say so on the packet. Heritage seeds can be ideal, and also provide another point of interest in your garden. If you’re growing vegetables, then only plant vegetables that you will eat! This will help to keep you interested in your garden and reduce waste.

Finally, work out a crop rotation plan to help maintain the health of your soil. A 4 year rotation plan is ideal.

Pest Control:
Pests are a constant menace in the garden and tend to worry organic gardeners in particular. However there are a range of pest control methods available. These can include companion planting, manually removing the bugs – either from the plant or the planet, depending on how annoyed you are with them – and there are also a range of homemade organic sprays and teas which can be very effective. A simple spray of dishwashing detergent (only a few drops), water and neem oil is great for aphids, whitefly and other pests.

But remember that your garden needs the good insects such as ladybugs and hoverflies, so be careful when you spray.

Fertilizers and soil conditioning:
Homemade fertilizers and compost are a great way to feed your soil and also reduce your household waste – all your green waste can go into your compost bin and worm farm. Generally, depending on your climate, homemade compost will be ready to use after 3 to 4 months. It will smell sweet and be crumbly in your hand.

Fertilizers can also be animal-based if you have a local friendly farmer with a ready supply of the main ingredient, however if you are using animal manure make sure it is completely rotted and decomposed before you add to your garden.

Equipment:
The only other equipment you may want to consider when gardening organically is a compost bin or worm farm. You can buy these from your garden centre or make one yourself. Just ensure that your bins are easy to reach from the house on a clean path, otherwise you are less likely to add your green waste.

And now you’re ready to plant! I wish you happy, healthy and successful gardening.
