Cane Corso are a great breed of dog, but before purchasing a Cane Corso puppy you should first have a basic understanding of this breed. This type of dog is very agile. These dogs are a very large breed that can weigh between 88-110 pounds. This breed is not for a first time dog owner. This breed comes in several different colours such as; Fawn, Red, Blue, Brindle, and Black. Most breeders and owners of Cane Corsos doc their tails and crop their ears.

Cane Corso Temperament

The temperament of a Cane Corso if not socialized properly can result in aggression towards other animals and human. They require a lot of personal interaction between owner and dog. Cane Corso if left alone for to long can become destructive and agitated. Socialization is a must to promote correct temperament (traits you would want to see in your Cane Corso puppy are calm, stable, and protective). They can also be quite dominant so it is a must to form a mutual respect with your dog.

How you know this breed is right for you?
If you would like a very powerful dog
Has a short coat, easy to care for
Can make a good watch dog
Only needs a lot of exercise
Very quiet while indoors (as an adult dog)
More energetic than most mastiffs
How to know if a Cane Corso isn’t for you
Can become very jumpy
Can be destructive if left alone for to long
Is a very heavy dog that likes to climb all over you, unless taught not too
Very strong willed and strong minded
Like to slobber and drool all over the place
Can have flatulence problems (farts a lot)
Can have legal issues in some areas such as; bans, insurance problems, lawsuits
Can be very rowdy
Very big dog, needs a lot of space
Snorts, grunts, can snore loud
Can also show aggression against people and other animals if not socialized properly

These Cane Corso tips should help you decide if a Corso is right for you or not. Before buying you should look for a good cane corso breeder and do a lot of research

In their training, student interior designers often learn about the history of their profession. This can be a really important way to give context to their subsequent careers. In this article, I will draw on my experience as an interior designer and educator to discuss the history of this exciting field.

The earliest professional interior designers were based in London – the British had become intrigued by Egyptian techniques of decorating household objects and wanted the same for themselves. London families became desperate to employ an interior designer to create magical spaces and accessorise their interiors. As interior designers came to be recognised as professionals, they increasingly found a need to draw on history to create fabulous results. This was particularly true when creating designs for historic London mansions or listed buildings – they saw historical reflections as a way of preserving the past while also looking to the future.

THE ANCIENT ROMANS

In Ancient Rome, citizens demanded comfort, luxury and wealth. These elements are still important in the work of interior designers across the world today. The lavish decorations, tapestries and iconic stonework today remain as timeless and popular in London as in Tokyo or Sydney. The Ancient Romans adored bespoke furniture and loved quality textiles and expensive fabrics.

MONASTIC TIMES

After the collapse of Roman rule, the church assumed power and largely discouraged the most creative interior designers. Opulent interiors were taken out and interior designers were instructed to install quiet and simple oak panels with dark lines and sharp edges. This influence was felt throughout Europe – from London all the way to Florence.

RENAISSANCE AND REVIVAL

The Renaissance saw the emergence of professional French or French-inspired interior designers. It was a new age of elegance and sophistication, which saw the rebuilding of the London Interior Designer community and a fresh take on creative and beautiful living spaces. A “palatial” feel was rediscovered, and interior designers began to take advantage of new transport axes going through London to the continent and to the Americas in order to rediscover their profession and herald the next generation of design.

This brings to an end my article on how the work of interior designers has changed over the ages. In my next article, I’ll reflect on how interior designers use interior fashions for great effect.

Every great artist has his muse: Dante had Beatrice; Man Ray had Kiki de Montparnasse; and John Hughes had Molly Ringwald, who starred in his movies “Sixteen Candles,” “The Breakfast Club” and “Pretty in Pink.” These movies established Mr. Hughes, the screenwriter and director, as an empathetic observer of a teenage generation and Ms. Ringwald as a paragon of 1980s film and fashion.

Mr. Hughes, who died last year at age 59, will be the subject of a two-day celebration, “John Hughes: We Can’t Forget About Him,” being held by the Film Society of Lincoln Center. (A. O. Scott of The New York Times appraised his work here.) On Sunday, the society will show five of Mr. Hughes’s films, including “Sixteen Candles” and “Pretty in Pink,” at the Walter Reade Theater. And on Monday, a screening of “The Breakfast Club” at the Paris Theater will be followed by a Q. and A. with Ms. Ringwald and her cast mates Anthony Michael Hall, Judd Nelson and Ally Sheedy, conducted by Kevin Smith.

Ms. Ringwald spoke recently with ArtsBeat about her work with Mr. Hughes, his filmmaking legacy and how she thinks her movies will be received by her children. These are excerpts from that conversation.

How did you and John first get connected?

He had already written “Breakfast Club” and was casting that in Chicago, and over that July 4th weekend, he wrote “Sixteen Candles.”

He had just moved to [the agency] I.C.M., and I was at I.C.M. at the time, and they’d given him a stack of headshots, and mine was one of them. For some reason, he picked out my headshot and had it up on his bulletin board, and he wrote “Sixteen Candles” looking at my pictures. So I was literally the inspiration for this character and he didn’t know me at all. When they came to L.A. to cast and said, “Who do you want to meet with?” he said, “I want to meet with that girl.” So we met and immediately, just completely hit it off. While we were doing “Sixteen Candles,” toward the end, he asked [Anthony] Michael [Hall] and I to be a part of “Breakfast Club.”

What would have happened if you were given this script that you were told was written for you – or, at least, for your headshot – and you discovered you didn’t like it?

I had already read it and thought that it was hilarious, so I was really leaning positively toward the meeting. If somebody told me that now, I would be amazed. But when you’re a kid, it’s like, “Yeah, sure.” It didn’t really seem that extraordinary. “Yeah, why not?” It makes sense.

It’s often said about John that he was a rare adult who knew how to write for young actors. Could you sense that just from his screenplays?

Absolutely. So many scripts I would read – and I still find this to be the case – whenever there was a teenager, it just does not sound remotely like a teenager. It sounds like it’s written by an adult for a kid. And then the kid actor is trying themselves sound like a kid, and they just don’t. For some reason, when I read John’s dialogue, it was totally unique. It was like his own language. But it made sense. I didn’t necessarily hear anybody that was talking like that. But we could.

I read “Sixteen Candles” in the back of my parents’ car, and I kept laughing out loud. And I was reading them these random bits of the script, and they were like, all right, we’ll take your word for it, it’s funny.

Were your parents O.K. with some of the more outrageous things you were called upon to do in that film?

They were totally fine with it. I remember, my mom had one objection to a scene with my [onscreen] father [played by Paul Dooley], actually. There was some tag at the end where the dad says, “Sam, what happened to your underpants?” or something like that. And my mom said, “You know, that just doesn’t really seem very appropriate to me.” And John was like, “You know what, you’re right.” He wasn’t thinking about it in those terms. He was just thinking of a funny line. And he changed it.

So he wasn’t precious about his screenwriting?

He was very amenable to things like that. The more we played with his script, the more he became absolutely delighted when we came up with stuff. I’ve never worked with anyone before or since that had that sort of confidence. John was insecure in many ways, but about that, he was very confident.

Even on “Sixteen Candles,” which was the first film he directed?

He knew that he was a novice, but he approached everything with excitement. He wasn’t one of these people who tried to puff up their chest and pretend like they’re an expert. He was like, yeah, this is my first project. Isn’t this great? Before he used a monitor, he used to just sit under the camera. During “Sixteen Candles” and “Breakfast Club,” all the time, he was under the camera or right by the camera. Most directors just use the video screens. But when I worked with him on those first two movies, he was always so close, so it really felt like he was a part of the scene.

When you were offered “The Breakfast Club,” and you saw how emotionally raw it was for its time, were you in any way intimidated about making a film like that?

I had total confidence in that script – I would say more than any other project that I made with him. Originally, he talked to me about playing the role that Ally played [Allison, the "basket case"]. And I was really upset because I wanted to play Claire [the "princess"], who was called Cathy at the time. She was so different from the way that I saw myself, and more the way I saw my older sister, because my sister was very popular. She was what they called a sosh at her school. John was like, “Well, let me talk to the studio, because I was thinking about you for this part.” Then a couple days later, he said, “Yeah, you can play that part.”

By John’s own admission, he was not a very good re-writer. Everything came out in bursts of inspiration, and then the studio would read it and say we’d really like this or we’d really like that, and he would try to appease people by rewriting. The only model the studio had for teen movies at that point was the “Porky’s” films. So he added this scene where [Principal] Vernon [played by Paul Gleason] was spying on this naked teacher swimming, and the janitor catches him. It got a lot further away from that initial script. We had a really long rehearsal process, and John called me up and said, “Are you excited about starting?” And I said, “Yeah, but it’s a lot different than that original script.” And he sounded alarmed and he said, “What do you mean?” The next day he brought in a stack of scripts to the rehearsal room and we literally just went through them, all of us. He ended up cutting out the teacher thing and he put all this other stuff back in. The script we actually filmed was much closer to what we’d originally read.

Was this rehearsal time crucial for you and the other “Breakfast Club” cast members to bond with one another?

I think so. But it was also a little bit nerve-racking because Judd Nelson almost got fired. He was doing this sort of Method-actor thing, I think, and he was being very provocative with me. Making jokes – I think he made some sort of blind joke, and my dad was blind – he was just trying to get under my skin, like Bender tries to get under Claire’s skin. It really didn’t bother me, but John was extremely protective of me and it just infuriated him. And he almost fired him, and we all banded together and really talked John out of firing Judd. [laughs] It really made us seem like a real group.

This sounds like a dry run for the movie itself.

It was like the little drama during the rehearsal period. I remember Ally spearheaded this meeting in the hotel room, and she was telling [Judd]: “All your energy is going out. You need to get focused like a laser beam.” Which I actually thought was really good advice.

Was it bittersweet for you as your film career diverged from John’s?

Yeah. I was ready to graduate, as it were. I really wanted to work with other people, and I think I was sort of nervous about only being associated with this one director. If I look back on it, I try not to have regrets about anything, but I do wish that I would have not worried about that so much. I wish, in a way, that I wasn’t in such a hurry to grow up. Because when you’re that age, you just think, Nobody’s going to see me as a grown-up. And you don’t realize how fast you’re a grown-up. [laughs] I always felt like John and I would work with each other again. I liked the movies he did after, and as I said in my Op-Ed piece, they’re really wonderful movies but I feel like his heart wasn’t connected to those movies in the same way.

Did you continue to keep in touch with him during this time?

Not really, no. He kind of sequestered himself. He moved back to Chicago. He didn’t really have much to do with Hollywood. I can’t speak for him, but I felt like he felt rejected in some way by me. But I did write him a letter when I was living in Paris, and I got back this enormous bouquet of flowers, so I felt good to know that I did connect with him, that he read what I wrote and it meant something, so I’m really grateful for that.

This may be a little premature, but have you thought about how your children will react to seeing you in these movies?

I really feel like I want my daughter – all my children, but specifically my 6-year-old, because she’ll see them before my twins – I really want her to come to the films organically. I don’t really want to force anything on her. And I feel like when she’s the right age she’ll just discover them. I have this fantasy of us watching them together, but chances are she’ll probably go to a slumber party and watch “Sixteen Candles.” In a lot of ways, I think that would be better.

Speakeasy tries to avoid Lindsay Lohan stories–she’s just too pitiful, and there’s no information value–but the news this morning that the young actress has tweeted about failing a court-ordered drug test seemed at least worth passing on because it appears as if the former child star has reached a new low. If that’s even possible.

A few hours ago, Lohan announced on her Twitter page “Regrettably, I did in fact fail my most recent drug test and if I am asked, I am prepared to appear before judge Fox next week as a result.”

She went on to say “Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn’t go away over night. I am working hard to overcome it and am taking positive steps…forward every day. I am testing every single day and doing what I must do to prevent any mishaps in the future…This was certainly a setback for me but I am taking responsibility for my actions and I’m prepared to face the consequences.”

Last month, she was released from jail after serving 13 days of a 90 day sentence for violating her probation stemming from a 2007 DUI case. Now, in the wake of the failed test, she may face more jail time.

The actress was recently on the cover of Vanity Fair, and was quoted as saying that she had put some of her problems behind her: “I’ve admitted to the things that I’ve done—to, you know, dabbling in certain things and trying things ’cause I was young and curious and thought it was like, O.K., ’cause other people were doing it and other people put it in front of me. And I see what happened in my life because of it.”

BY Manish Mehta
Daily News Sports Writer

Tuesday, September 14th 2010, 2:31 PM

Rex Ryan said Tuesday that he has offered to talk to the NFL about the investigation into whether Jets players and possibly coaches acted inappropriately toward TV Azteca reporter Ines Sainz at a Saturday practice at the team’s facility in Florham Park.

“I volunteered to talk to them,” Ryan said at a press conference to discuss the Jets’ 10-9 loss to the Baltimore Ravens Monday night. “We want to have an environment here where everybody’s comfortable. I don’t know all the specifics of what’s going on. The NFL is here today. They’re here investigating. We’re open. Whoever the NFL wants to talk to – I’m not sure who it is – but we’ll let that play out. We’re here to cooperate.”

Ryan also said the team is open to sensitivity training. “It’s something as an organization we’re going to look into,” he said. “Bring people in that maybe will help, provide that kind of environment. We’re certainly open to that.”

Ryan said the NFL had not yet spoken with him about the incident, which has sparked a national debate on the issue of women reporters in the locker room., adding that he is not sure if the team will be fined

Sainz went to the Jets’ practice Saturday to interview quarterback Mark Sanchez, but while waiting for Sanchez, she was blitzed with boorish behavior. Players and coaches seemed to intentionally overthrow passes in her direction, whistled at her, openly ogled her and blocked her path as she attempted to walk away. In the locker room, she was subjected to whistles and catcalls, eventually tweeting that she was avoiding eye contact with players.

Ryan said Tuesday that he has not had spoken to Sainz.

“I really don’t know what happened, what took place,” Ryan said. “If anything I’m finding out as well. I was trying to get ready for a game. This came up. I wasn’t in the lockerroom.”

He said league officials will talk to specific players today.

“Everybody should be comfortable,” Ryan said. “That’s who we are. We’re an open team. Probably as open as anybody. We try to provide access to all our players, to all our coaches… Every reporter should be comfortable. It’s workplace for every reporter here as well as the players. All of us here.”

Phil Davison, the failed candidate for Stark County, Ohio, treasurer whose terrifyingly comical stump speech has become a viral video sensation, described the source of his frustration in an interview on Thursday — and said he was surprised by the reaction.

In a conversation with Talking Point Memo‘s Christina Bellantoni, Davison explained that YouTube, and perhaps the concept of a video sharing website, seemed foreign to him.

“I went home and had a ham sandwich and went to bed and thought that was the end of it,” Davison told TPM. “A friend called, and well, I’m not very good with electronics, is there a YouTube? It was on some kind of electronic server.”

The 39-year-old Davison, currently unemployed apart from his $ 260-a-month salary for the part-time work he puts in as a councilman in Minerva County, Ohio, also told TPM that his ultimate political vision was to expand the GOP to encompass the louder, more extreme factions of the party.

“I think it’s time we form a radical branch of the Republican Party,” Davison said, according to TPM. “We need to embrace diversity and include people who are frustrated with government, who truly want to make a change.”

In a separate interview with Politico, Davison said his impromptu rise to fame came as a complete surprise.

“It’s shocking. I don’t know what to say. I’m speechless,” Davison told Politico. “I was emotional last night. I’m truly passionate about what I believe in.”

And, as Davison intimated during his original speech, he would not apologize for his tone.

“If I had to give it again, I would give it again. I didn’t mean to offend anyone–that’s the last thing I wanted to do. I want to be inclusive,” he told Politico, though he admitted that “feedback would have been nice. I really don’t know how it was received.”

Shocking News

Taken From an American news website

A church in the State of Florida in US on Sep 11th from 6am to 9pm will hold a ceremony called “International day of Burning Quran.”

You, the Muslim who loves your faith and prays for one God!

You, whom have been given the Holy Quran which has saved you from sinking into a sea of despair and a life filled with problems!

You, that defends rights, religion and Quran!

You, who conduct the real struggle against enemies of our religion!

As on the 21st of May in the current year there was an event (Draw a Cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad Day) encouraging people all over the world to draw a cartoon of the prophet Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him. Thousands of cartoons were drawn in one day depicting the prophet which was an insult to our prophet Muhammad. This information was shared on websites and Facebook.

This time these people have decided, once again, to insult our religion, our Quran, and our holy sites. Therefore, you, the devoted Muslim, don’t keep quiet! Don’t suppress your voice in your throat for your religion is in danger and the day has arrived that Islam wants us to become united! We must raise our voices, fight together, and strike a hard blow to the mouth of stinking pigs to knock them down!

Let others know, before it becomes too late, to spread this message. Let them know we must hurry, because we have a short time to act and time is running out. Only God knows if there will be another such an opportunity to defend our religion and Quran.

Therefore don’t waste this golden opportunity because it may save us from the fire of hell which is much hotter than the fire in this world.

General David Petraeus response to the potential burning of the Koran:

“in this case I think you have a situation where the actions of the fellow citizens certainly arguably within the first amendment rights I think all would generally agree, could nonetheless endanger the lives of tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of fellow citizens who are deployed around the world, conducting missions, with Islamic partners in Islamic countries.”

JERUSALEM — Israelis usher in the Jewish new year, or Rosh Hashana, at sundown Wednesday with a widespread sense of pessimism that a new round of U.S.-sponsored Mideast talks can achieve peace.

President Barack Obama wants a deal within a year, but Israelis are deeply skeptical after decades of failed efforts.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged the widespread doubts.

“There are many obstacles, many skeptics, and many reasons for skepticism,” he said in a holiday address. He called the talks “an important step in an attempt to reach” peace, but said it “is an attempt because there is no certainty of success.”

Still some took heart from the simple fact that the Israelis and Palestinians are talking again after negotiations broke down over the Gaza war nearly two years ago.

“The Middle East swamp becomes even more toxic, even more dangerous, when the water stands still,” commentator Nahum Barnea wrote in the daily Yediot Ahronot. “But even those who fear, as I do, that no agreement will come of these ceremonies, has to be glad that something is moving.”

Obama wished Israelis a happy new year in a front page greeting in Yediot Ahronot, and expressed hope the new peace talks would succeed. A second round is slated for next week in Egypt.

Across Israel, Jews were far more excited about Rosh Hashana than renewed peace talks. They cleaned frantically, rushed to crowded marketplaces, cooked and clogged the highways en route to family dinners to mark the start of the two-day new year’s festival that begins at sundown.

Rosh Hashana this year coincides with the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan — both religions rely on the lunar calendar.

For Jews, the holiday begins a 10-day period of soul-searching solemnity leading up to the fast day of atonement, Yom Kippur. Muslims are preparing to celebrate the end of Ramadan and its daytime fasts with a three-day festival called Eid al-Fitr, expected to start Thursday.

In Jewish west Jerusalem, the outdoor market of Mahane Yehuda was teeming with shoppers closely examining fruits and vegetables, piping-hot breads and sticky honey-glazed cakes. Sales in two popular holiday items — honey and pomegranates — were brisk.

Observant Jews prepared for long hours in synagogues over the holiday. Highlights of the ritual include the sounding of the shofar, a trumpet made of a ram’s horn, and dipping an apple in honey to symbolize a sweet new year.

At the same time, hundreds of thousands of secular Israelis were taking advantage of a rare four-day weekend. With the seasonal heat wave in full swing, beaches on the Mediterranean and the Sea of Galilee were expected to be full.

In Arab areas of Jerusalem’s Old City, where key Muslim and Jewish holy sites are located just yards (meters) apart, walls were strung with gleaming lights and women haggled over the price of new clothes as children bounced in tow, in preparation for Eid al-Fitr.

A constant stream of Muslim worshippers flowed through the cobblestone streets, heading for the Al-Aqsa compound where Muslims believe the Prophet Muhammad ascended to heaven.

“Between people, I think there can be coexistence,” said Othman Ibrahim, a smiling 70-year-old Palestinian man.

On Wednesday, the Israeli military closed crossings from the West Bank into Israel until the end of the holiday because of concerns that militants could carry out attacks. Such closures have become standard on Jewish holidays.
