LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Ryan Grant’s injury update was not the news Packers fans wanted. Ryan Grants’ right ankle injury is going to need surgery, is a “significant” injury, and could be season ending, said team members to local news today. The Green Bay Packers won’t have Ryan Grant potentially for the rest of the season after a need to put a screw in his lower leg. Filling in for Grant will be Brandon Jackson with John Kuhn on backup.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy told news today the injury is significant adding more testing will determine the length of rehab. Grant told news “They made the decision to take me out,. They didn’t want to make it worse than it was. Once I’d iced it for a while, they said, ‘We might as well put you in a boot.’”
In other injury news, Bob Sanders is out for an unknown number of games. The Colts star has a painful torn biceps tendon. Sanders is still awaiting MRI results and is being examined by Dr James Andrews.
Also out for the rest of the season is Jets’ Kris Jenkins following a tear in his left knee’s ACL. Jenkins was mentioned as allegedly part of the Ines Sainz New York Jets reporter scandal on Saturday (click HERE for Sainz’s pictures). Rex Ryan told news today “It’s going to be a huge blow for us.” Ryan said Jenkins has not decided if he would retire.
