Reverse Phone Number Lookup Reviews

Reverse phone number lookup works like a phone book as it helps you find the owner of the number that keeps calling your phone. There are free sites out there offering this service as the search strings are really easy to create. However for cell phones, the numbers aren’t listed publicly so there’s no way to trace these numbers except through an online provider of phone number scan.

In what cases are these providers really helpful? When you are receiving threatening or lewd text messages or when you see strange messages on your child’s cell phone, then these sites can help you deal with the problem by searching the owner of that number. There are two prominent sites that do offer the service.

The cheaper site is

They offer the similar kind of service as other sites. You put in the number in question and your search will turn up a result for free. To view the details, they will ask you to sign up for about which is a one year subscription to unlimited access to their service. To be very frank, there have been bad reviews on this site from other customers who got bogus results in the word “Pending”. These are results from numbers that have paid protection money so to speak so the service doesn’t really work on them.

The other site, phone-detectives.com has more helpful pages that answers a lot of questions plus the part I like most is the money-back guarantee. I don’t want to pay up and end up with nothing such as a “Pending” result in one of my searches. I’m not paying to see that. They’re very confident with their service and they guarantee that all searches will yield a result. That’s fine and good. If you try to get a full report on the number you just scanned from the free part of their service, you will notice an option below to have your personal information withdrawn from searches that any service such as theirs provide. That’s also fantastic since it only costs five dollars and you can secure your information indefinitely. That’s good news but now I’ve got a question on who else is doing this. If they were professional prank callers or are aware of such phone number scan sites, wouldn’t they also try to opt out of their searches?

That’s where the money-back guarantee is really important in these services. You can’t really know whose data is accessible and whose isn’t. When the information is there, that’s very helpful but when it’s not, it’s really frustrating. However, I do appreciate the extra effort done by more expensive sites such as phone-detectives’ because they use other means to cross check information and still end up giving you something.

It all comes down to what you’re willing to pay and how much you’re willing to risk. I’d say for twice the price of phonenumberscan.com’s service, it’s better to be safe than annoyed.
