Marvin Sapp’s wife, Malinda Sapp, remembered during prayer gathering

The death of Marvin Sapp’s wife, Malinda Sapp, was met with massive support, prayers and words of kindness, including a gathering at the Lighthouse Full Life Center Church last night.

As word that Marvin Sapp’s wife died made news, fans were quick to take to Twitter and blog comment sections to offer up their condolences to the Sapp family.

Malinda Sapp was married to gospel singer Marvin Sapp for 15 years and they have three children together. She served as Marvin’s manager and was a professional counselor, as well as an administrative pastor at Lighthouse Full Life Center Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Marvin Sapp is best known in the gospel music world for his 2008 song, “Never Would Have Made It” and more recently, “The Best in Me.”

Malinda Sapp died Thursday following a battle with colon cancer.

Friends of the Sapp family gathered at the Lighthouse Full Life Center Church Thursday evening for pray and remembrance, honoring the life of Malinda Sapp. Marvin’s Facebook page had posted the Citywide Prayer event at the church to remember Malinda, and offered a conference call line to join the prayer as well.

Many people are leaving their condolences on Marvin Sapp’s Facebook page.
