Is Command PR’s Jonathan Cheban Bad For Girls? Video Evidence From “The Spin … – Babble

August 23rd, 2010

jonathan chebanAttention parents of girls: Do NOT let your daughter grow up to work for Command PR’s Jonathan Cheban unless you want her to suffer from low self esteem. On the series premiere of “The Spin Crowd,” which aired last night on E! after “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” Cheban demonstrated that you don’t have to be in the modeling or acting industry to make young girls feel bad about their looks.

Cheban called out a smart young employee named Erika for not being pretty enough to meet clients. He advised his new worker to get lip injections to look better and make a good impression. He even made an appointment for her to get the injections and offered to pay for them.

Oh, Jonathan, where to begin? Erika was already very pretty by Hollywood standards, and you probably just caused her years of therapy, unless you were just putting on an act for the camera, which is equally abhorrent.

To see whether Erika followed his advice, continue reading for the video.

My heart sank when Erika came back into the office with a plumper pout, seeming to have heeded Jonathan’s advice. He cheered and commented on her lips. But Erika, striking a blow against evil bosses everywhere, had something to tell Jonathan: Her big, beautiful lips were merely temporary.

She’d gotten an injection that lasted a few hours to make a point: That she didn’t need to live by someone else’s beauty standards.

Jonathan was livid. “You’re homely. No offense, but this is Hollywood, you need to like step it up, and I really don’t appreciate you playing games, and I’m serious,” he said.

Yay Erika! Keep standing up to that bully. That is an example for our daughters that I can live with.

Here’s the video.
