Hell’s Kitchen First Hour Recap – Surprise At Elimination Time

There is certainly never a dull moment in Hell’s Kitchen! In tonight’s episode the men’s team isn’t working well together right now and Raj seems to be the weak link. Not only is he slow in the kitchen but he is also a bit odd with his infamous karate moves to his overall mannerisms.  In this episode he tests Chef Ramsey’s patience more than ever by talking back, eating food that wasn’t good enough to serve and cooked food before it was even ordered. Even if you’ve only watched 1 episode of Hell’s Kitchen you know that is an absolute no no.

The girls display some great teamwork early on aside from Sabrina’s absence during prep time, but Emily seems to be the anchor in the kitchen slowing everything down. They have some highs and lows but overall end up pulling together and completing another dinner service.   At this point it looks like all is in favor of the girls to be safe tonight, but that’s not so. The girls lose by 1% based on customer comment cards and end up putting up Sabrina and Emily for elimination.

However, someone like me who has watched this show from day one knows there’s often a twist and it won’t be someone from the girl’s team going home tonight.  Chef Ramsey surprises everyone and sends home the dead weight on the blue team and Raj is eliminated. In fact the blue team felt that was more like a victory than a loss. I can’t say that I am sad to see him go, but I will miss those karate moves by Raj in future episodes.
